“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10. In a world filled with noise, deadlines, responsibilities, and constant movement, silence has become rare. Many people feel overwhelmed not because life is impossible, but because they rarely stop long enough to listen. This verse invites us to something simple yet powerful: stillness. Being still does not only mean sitting quietly—it means allowing our hearts to slow down and recognize God's presence. Many people expect God to speak through dramatic moments or life-changing experiences, yet often God speaks in quiet spaces: during early morning reflection, peaceful walks in nature, or moments when we pause to think deeply about life. Stillness creates clarity. When we step away from constant distractions, problems that once seemed overwhelming become easier to understand, fear slowly transforms into faith, and anxiety begins to turn into trust. A simple practice can help cultivate this stillness. Spend a few minutes each day sitting quietly in prayer, reflecting on a Bible verse, walking in nature while speaking to God, or writing down thoughts in a journal. These moments reconnect us with God's presence and guidance. Take a moment to reflect on this question: when was the last time you truly paused and allowed yourself to listen for God's direction in your life?
